About the position
Financial Accountant / Financial Manager (Hands-On)Hire Resolve is seeking a hands-on, highly resilient Financial Accountant / Financial Manager to take operational ownership of the complete finance function for a commercial group based in Nelspruit (Mbombela), Mpumalanga.
This role is ideal for an experienced SAIPA, AGA(SA), or CIMA-qualified accountant who thrives in a hands-on environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for rolling up their sleeves to stabilize, reconcile, and build structured accounting processes, working closely with executive leadership to bring the full finance function up to speed.
Key Performance Areas:
- Full-Function Accounting & Reconciliations: Personally handle month-end and year-end trial balance closures, general ledger reconciliations, balance sheet clearing, and complete financial statement preparation.
- Process Remediation & Workflow Building: Evaluate current financial workflows, rebuild missing accounting controls, rectify historical reconciliations, and establish structured operating procedures.
- Operational Supervision: Provide daily technical guidance and oversight to the internal Accounts Payable Officer, Accounts Receivable Officer, and Admin Manager.
- Cash Flow & Treasury Management: Manage working capital, daily cash flow monitoring, bank reconciliations, and vendor payment approvals.
- Taxation & Statutory Compliance: Oversee complete SARS compliance, including timely calculations, reconciliations, and submissions for VAT, PAYE, and provisional tax.
- Management Reporting: Deliver accurate, reliable monthly financial management packs directly to executive owners and leadership.
Minimum Requirements:- Professional Qualifications: Qualified SAIPA, AGA(SA), or CIMA designation is mandatory.
- Experience: 5+ years of solid, hands-on financial management or senior accounting experience within small-to-medium enterprise (SME) or commercial group environments, reporting directly to an Owner, Managing Director, or CEO.
- Hands-On Capability: Must have personally closed general ledgers and trial balances within the last 12 months (not solely acting in a supervisory, review, or advisory capacity).
- Skills & Competencies: Proven track record in process remediation, building accounting structure, and resolving complex historical reconciliations independently.
- Location & Work Arrangement: Based in Nelspruit (Mbombela) or fully committed to an immediate on-site relocation. Strictly a full-time, on-site role (no remote or hybrid arrangements).
Position Details:- Location: Nelspruit (Mbombela), Mpumalanga — Strictly On-Site.
- Remuneration: R38,000 – R40,000 CTC per month (R456,000 – R480,000 per annum).
- Position Type: Full-Time, Permanent.
