Qualified Accountant

About the position

The Qualified Accountant in a Supervisory Role is responsible for overseeing the financial accounting functions within the finance department. This role requires a strong background in accounting, a thorough understanding of financial processes, and the ability to lead and manage a team effectively. The successful candidate will contribute to the financial integrity of the company and ensure that all financial reporting complies with legal standards and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and support the finance team in day-to-day accounting operations.
• Ensure accurate and timely reporting of financial data.
• Oversee the accounting for Revenue and Receivables cycles.
• Manage the accounting for Payment and Accounts Payable cycles.
• Monitor inventory cycle accounting and ensure compliance with internal controls.
• Provide guidance in financial software utilisation and enhance team proficiency.
• Conduct regular training sessions to improve team skills in accounting processes
  and software.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders for audits and compliance
  checks.
• Prepare financial reports and present findings to senior management.

Qualifications:

• A minimum of a B.Com in Accounting or equivalent.
• A supplementary postgraduate qualification in Cost Accounting/Management Accounting is an advantage.
• Commitment to continuous professional development in accounting standards.

Experience:

• At least 5 years of experience in financial accounting.
• A minimum of 2 years' experience in a supervisory role.
• Proficiency in financial accounting software.
• Strong Excel skills for data manipulation and reporting.
• Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration and reporting.
• Significant understanding and experience with Revenue and Receivables
  accounting.
• Proficiency in managing Payment and Accounts Payable processes.
• Experience working in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
• Familiarity with inventory cycle accounting.
• Experience with Auditing or Management Accounting Articles from a reputable
  organisation is an added advantage.
