About the position
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer to join a dynamic team in the banking industry. As a QA Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of our banking software applications through meticulous testing and validation processes. Your role will be crucial in maintaining the integrity of our financial systems and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
Responsibilities:
- Test Planning and Strategy: Develop comprehensive test plans and strategies tailored to the banking industry's requirements. Collaborate with stakeholders to define testing objectives, scope, and timelines.
- Test Execution: Perform functional, regression, integration, and performance testing on banking software applications. Utilize both manual and automated testing techniques to validate system functionality and ensure adherence to business requirements.
- Defect Management: Identify, track, and report software defects using designated defect tracking tools. Work closely with development teams to investigate and resolve issues in a timely manner.
- Compliance and Security Testing: Conduct thorough compliance and security testing to ensure adherence to industry regulations and standards such as PCI-DSS, GDPR, and ISO 27001. Implement necessary controls to safeguard sensitive financial data.
- Risk Assessment: Assess the risk associated with software changes and new features, particularly those impacting critical banking operations. Provide recommendations for risk mitigation strategies.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of test cases, procedures, and outcomes. Ensure documentation is up-to-date and accessible to relevant stakeholders.
- Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including developers, business analysts, and project managers to ensure alignment on testing objectives and priorities.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on emerging trends and best practices in QA methodologies, tools, and technologies. Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the QA process.

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- Proven experience working as a QA Engineer in the banking or financial services industry.
- In-depth knowledge of banking software systems, processes, and regulations.
- Strong understanding of software testing methodologies, tools, and techniques.
- Experience with test automation tools such as Selenium, JUnit, or TestNG.
- Familiarity with SQL and database testing.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in Quality Assurance (e.g., ISTQB).
- Experience with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools.
