As a rapidly growing company, we are seeking experienced and detail-oriented QA Automation Engineers to join our dynamic team in Johannesburg, South Africa. Position Overview: We are looking for Intermediate to Senior QA Automation Engineers with strong experience in automated software testing. The ideal candidates will have 3 to 7+ years of experience in creating and maintaining automated test frameworks, preferably using Playwright or similar tools. Experience with monitoring and observability platforms like Datadog is highly advantageous. This is a hands-on role that focuses on ensuring the high quality and reliability of our enterprise-grade insurance software systems. Key Responsibilities: Design, develop, and maintain automated test suites for web-based applications using Playwright or equivalent tools. Collaborate closely with developers, product managers, and DevOps to understand features and technical implementation. Create and execute functional, regression, and integration tests as part of CI/CD pipelines. Identify, log, and track bugs and issues through to resolution. Establish best practices for automated testing and quality assurance across the development lifecycle. Analyse system performance and errors using tools like Datadog to proactively identify potential issues. Ensure comprehensive test coverage and traceability across requirements, tests, and defects. Provide feedback and recommendations for product and process improvements. Mentor junior QA team members and contribute to test strategy and planning. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Informatics, or a related field. systems. 3-7+ years of experience in automated testing for web applications and enterprise? Strong proficiency with modern testing tools and frameworks, especially Playwright (or Selenium, Cypress, etc. Solid understanding of test-driven development, BDD/TDD frameworks, and continuous integration practices. Experience with performance monitoring and observability tools like Datadog, New Relic, or similar. Familiarity with version control (Git), CI/CD pipelines, and agile/scrum methodologies. Excellent attention to detail and analytical problem-solving skills. Strong communication and collaboration abilities. Preferred Skills: Exposure to insurance industry processes or financial software testing. Familiarity with C#/.NET environments and testing APIs or back-end services. Experience writing load/performance tests using tools like k6, JMeter, or similar. Experience working with Azure DevOps or other cloud-native testing workflows.
