Purchase & Logistics Manager

International Procurement | Imports & Exports | Supply Chain

An established business is looking for an experienced Purchase & Logistics Manager to manage procurement and international logistics operations.

Imports and exports account for the majority of the business, with regular trade with Germany and China, making this role ideal for someone with strong experience in international procurement, freight coordination, and supplier management.

This is a hands-on, non-corporate environment where clear communication and strong relationships with suppliers and internal teams are key.

 

Key Responsibilities

• Manage international purchasing and procurement
• Oversee import and export logistics, including freight, shipping, and documentation
• Liaise with freight forwarders, clearing agents, and overseas suppliers
• Negotiate pricing, lead times, and supplier agreements
• Monitor inventory levels and safety stock
• Align procurement with production planning
• Conduct product costing and margin analysis
• Support sales teams with pricing and supplier insights
• Maintain strong supplier relationships locally and internationally

 

Requirements

• 5+ years’ experience in procurement, supply chain, or logistics
• Strong experience in imports, exports, and international freight
• Experience dealing with international suppliers (Europe / Asia advantageous)
• Solid understanding of inventory planning and supply chain operations
• Advanced Excel 
• Experience with Pastel advantageous
• Qualification in Supply Chain, Procurement, or Cost Accounting preferred
• Strong negotiation and communication skills
