About the position
Overview of the Role:
The Proposal Writer is responsible for creating high-quality, persuasive, and customer-focused proposals in response to tender requests (RFPs, RFQs, RFIs). These proposals are aimed at winning new business or retaining existing clients in the ICT space.
Key Aspects of the Role:
- Collaboration: You'll work closely with internal teams like solution architects, sales, legal, and technical experts to gather accurate and compelling content for proposals.
- Content Creation: Your primary duty is to write and structure proposal documents that clearly explain complex ICT solutions (e.g., cloud services, cybersecurity, data centres) in a way that's easy for clients to understand and find value in.
- Compliance & Strategy: You must ensure the proposals meet all client requirements and contribute to strategies for winning or retaining business.
- Process Management: You'll track proposal timelines, manage documentation, maintain content libraries, and assist in proposal reviews.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- A strong writer with the ability to simplify and communicate technical information effectively.
- Skilled in proposal formatting, editing, and storytelling, particularly within the ICT sector.
- Experienced in working under pressure, managing multiple deadlines, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Familiar with bid management tools, Microsoft Office, and optionally, design tools like Adobe InDesign.
Bonus Qualifications:
- APMP certification (or similar proposal management training).
- Experience with public and private sector ICT tenders.
- Graphic design skills for enhancing document layout and visual appeal.
