Proposals Engineer | Business Development | Mining Equipment
An established engineering organisation in the mining sector is seeking a Proposals Engineer to support business development and drive capital equipment opportunities across Africa.
This role combines technical solution development with commercial responsibility and client engagement. It is suited to an engineer who understands mining equipment and enjoys working across sales, proposals and project opportunity development.
Requirements
BEng in Mechanical, Mining or Process Engineering
3 to 8 years of experience in mining or heavy industrial equipment
Experience with capital equipment sales or proposals
Strong commercial understanding, including CAPEX and lifecycle costing
Exposure to African mining environments
Willingness to travel locally and internationally
Valid drivers licence and passport
Key Responsibilities
Identify and develop new mining project opportunities
Engage with mine operators, consultants and EPCs
Develop technical solutions based on client requirements
Prepare costed proposals and support commercial negotiations
Evaluate technical and commercial risks
Deliver technical presentations and support site assessments
Maintain pipeline reporting and support deal conversion
This role suits a commercially aware engineer who can combine technical expertise with business development in a mining environment.
