About the position
PROPERTY ACCOUNTANT
My client in Pretoria is looking for an Accountant that comes out of the property industry. They need someone that has experience dealing with different areas of accounting and be a solid all-rounder.
Minimum requirements:
- Experience in property debtors and billing is essential
- BCom/Diploma or financial qualification would be beneficial
- MS Excel
- MDA/MRI property management software experience
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Reviewing back recons / cashbooks and reporting on balances.
- Updating client details on finance systems (bank details, VAT number and registration numbers etc.)
- Assist with Month-end procedures.
- Ensure that finance operations and documents are processed correctly and timeously.
- Preparation of monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
- Assist with year-end audit requirements.
- Assist in reconciling intercompany / intergroup transactions.
- Provides direct support to the Property Accountant in ensuring that the monthly billing runs smoothly, and all necessary procedures have been performed within specified timeframes.
- Compiles monthly VAT schedules and performs analytics to ensure compliancy and accuracy for review by the Financial Manager.
- Any other ad-hoc tasks as required.
- Overall administrative / processing tasks related to debtors.
- Processing and reporting of collection of all debtors' accounts.
- Processing bank account transactions (capturing cash books) and reconciling bank balances and reporting on balances daily.
- Provides direct support to the Property Accountant.
- Ensures that all invoices, statements are sent to tenants timeously.
- Updating client details on finance systems (bank details, VAT number and registration numbers etc.)
Additional requirements:
- Strong financial / numerical ability.
- Ability to prioritize and successfully complete multiple tasks.
- Strong focus on attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Must have excellent work ethic - honest, reliable, hardworking, dedicated, takes pride in work carried out.
