The Role: Project Planner
You'll play a critical role in ensuring project timelines are achievable, realistic, and maintained throughout the project lifecycle. Working closely with Project Managers and Construction Managers, you will take ownership of planning, scheduling, coordination, and reporting to keep complex engineering projects on track. This role requires precision, accountability, and strong communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Bring proven project planning experience (minimum 35 years) within engineering, construction, or EPC environments
- Develop, manage, and maintain detailed project schedules aligned with project objectives
- Review and assess contractor schedules for accuracy, feasibility, and alignment with deliverables
- Provide regular progress feedback to the Project Manager and flag potential delays early
- Monitor schedule performance and adjust plans throughout the project lifecycle
- Attend progress meetings and ensure execution aligns with approved schedules
- Issue updated schedules consistently and ensure accurate data collection and integration
- Analyse impacts of changes, identify risks, and advise on mitigation solutions
- Incorporate scope variations into schedules and liaise with relevant managers
- Provide schedule inputs for contract deviations or claims
- Prepare clear progress reports, charts, and diagrams reflecting planned vs actual progress
- Build and maintain formulae and reporting structures within MS Projects
- Assist with any additional planning or reporting tasks required by management
About You
- 3 to 5 years of experience as a Project Planner within construction, engineering, or EPC projects
- Strong proficiency in MS Projects or equivalent scheduling software
- Solid analytical and problem-solving ability
- Excellent communication and coordination skills when working with contractors and project teams
- Highly organised, detail-driven, and able to work under pressure
- Able to identify risks early and propose practical schedule-driven solutions
- A proactive mindset and a strong sense of ownership over project delivery
