About the position
Our client is seeking a Project Manager to oversee energy projects from initiation through to successful completion. This role requires a strong project management professional who can coordinate multiple stakeholders, manage resources and schedules, and ensure projects remain aligned with scope, budget, quality, and delivery requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, execute, and oversee projects from commencement through completion.
- Develop and manage project schedules, resources, milestones, and deliverables.
- Monitor project progress and identify potential delays, risks, and issues.
- Coordinate with expeditors, inspectors, logistics teams, suppliers, and other project stakeholders.
- Manage the expediting process to ensure materials and equipment are delivered according to project requirements.
- Coordinate inspections and support adherence to applicable quality standards.
- Oversee logistics activities, including transportation, warehousing, and site deliveries.
- Resolve project issues and implement appropriate corrective actions.
- Prepare project documentation, progress reports, and other relevant records.
- Maintain effective communication with clients, suppliers, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
- Identify opportunities to improve project processes, efficiency, and overall performance.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience in project management, including planning, scheduling, risk management, and stakeholder coordination.
- Experience with expediting and ensuring the timely delivery of materials and equipment.
- Knowledge of inspection processes and quality control within technical or energy-related projects.
- Experience in logistics management, including transport, warehousing, and site deliveries.
- Strong analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Experience in the energy, utilities, or infrastructure sector is advantageous.
- PMP, PRINCE2, or similar project management certification would be beneficial.
- Willingness to work on site in Johannesburg and travel to project locations as required.
