About the position
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Project Manager with proven experience in IT and network infrastructure projects to lead the successful delivery of Wi-Fi, LAN/WAN, and connectivity initiatives. The ideal candidate will have strong project governance and stakeholder management capabilities, experience working with multidisciplinary technical teams and vendors, and a solid understanding of network infrastructure concepts within complex public or enterprise environments.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Proven experience in delivering Wi-Fi, LAN/WAN and technology projects.
- Experience working with multidisciplinary technical teams and external vendors.
- Knowledge of project management and governance especially on large projects in a multi-disciplinary environment.
- Proven ability to use and maintain complex project administration systems
- Experience with administration of project documentation (specifications, closeout documents, POs and invoices)
- The ability to work systematically and accurately in complex settings.
- Experience with municipal, government or publicly funded connectivity programmes.
- Exposure to digital inclusion &or SmartCape initiatives.
- Familiarity with public sector procurement and contract management
RequirementsRequirements:
- Relevant B-Degree (Information Technology, Project Management or related field)
- Proven Project Management skills within an IS&T Environment.
- 3–5+ years’ experience managing IT or network infrastructure projects.
Core skills:
- Excellent communications skills.
- Core Skills Understanding of Wi-Fi technologies (e.g. access points, controllers)
- Familiarity with infrastructure network concepts such as routing, switching, IP addressing and security.
- Exposure to site surveys, cabling, power, and physical infrastructure considerations.
- Driver License.
