About the position
Our Client, a leading engineering organisation in the mineral processing sector is seeking a hands on Project Engineer to manage mechanical projects across South Africa and Africa.
Requirements
- Mechanical Engineering degree (must)
- Mining industry experience
- Project experience in mining or heavy engineering
- Advanced knowledge of 2D and 3D CAD
- Advanced SolidWorks and AutoCAD skills
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification, advantageous (or working towards)
- Valid Passport to travel throughout Africa
- Valid drivers licence
- Excellent communication, planning and reporting ability
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate engineering projects from design through to commissioning, on time and within budget
- Oversee design, drafting, assembly, installation and on site activities
- Liaise with clients, internal teams, contractors and stakeholders
- Lead project meetings and prepare project schedules and reports
- Supervise site work including inspections, installation, commissioning and maintenance support
- Ensure compliance with engineering standards, quality requirements and project specifications
- Monitor project timelines, risks, costs and overall performance
- Support maintenance investigations and provide technical solutions
