About the position
Role Purpose
Lead and deliver large-scale finance transformation programmes across the organisation, driving modernisation of finance systems, processes, and data capabilities.
This role will be accountable for end-to-end programme delivery, ensuring alignment between Finance, Technology, and Business stakeholders, while enabling improved financial insight, efficiency, compliance, and decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
Programme Leadership & Delivery
- Own delivery of complex, multi-stream finance transformation programmes
- Define and manage programme roadmap, scope, milestones, and deliverables
- Drive execution across multiple workstreams (systems, data, process, reporting)
- Establish and manage programme governance structures (steerco, reporting, RAID)
Finance Transformation
- Lead transformation initiatives across:
- Finance systems (ERP, GL, consolidation tools)
- Financial reporting and analytics
- Planning, budgeting, and forecasting (FP&A)
- Regulatory and statutory reporting
- Drive standardisation and optimisation of end-to-end finance processes (P2P, O2C, R2R)
Stakeholder & Business Engagement
- Engage senior stakeholders across:
- Finance (CFO, Financial Controllers, FP&A)
- Technology and Data teams
- Risk and Compliance
- Translate business strategy into practical delivery plans and outcomes
- Facilitate workshops to define future-state operating models
Technology & Data Enablement
- Oversee implementation / optimisation of:
- ERP platforms (e.g. SAP S/4HANA, Oracle, Dynamics)
- Data and reporting platforms (Power BI, data warehouses)
- Ensure alignment between finance, data architecture, and integration layers
Governance, Risk & Compliance
- Manage programme risks, dependencies, and financials
- Ensure delivery aligns to regulatory requirements and audit standards
- Drive strong change control and quality assurance practices
Change & Adoption
- Lead organisational change across finance teams
- Drive user adoption, training, and BAU transition
- Embed new ways of working and continuous improvement culture
Minimum Requirements
Experience
- 10+ years’ experience in programme / project management
- Proven track record delivering large-scale finance transformation programmes
- Experience within financial services / insurance environments (highly preferred)
- Demonstrated experience managing multi-million rand programmes
Finance Domain Knowledge
Strong understanding of:
- Financial accounting and reporting
- FP&A processes
- Finance operations (P2P, O2C, R2R)
- Regulatory and compliance environments
Technical / Transformation Exposure
- ERP implementation or optimisation experience (SAP, Oracle, Dynamics, etc.)
- Exposure to finance data, reporting, and analytics platforms
- Understanding of system integration and data flows

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, IT, or related field
- PMP / PRINCE2 / Agile certifications (preferred)
- CA(SA), CIMA, or equivalent (advantageous but not essential)
