Professional Structural Engineer

About the position

A highly reputable consultancy firm, delivering major built and natural environment projects throughout Sub-Saharan Africa and beyond, is currently seeking talented professionals to join its multidisciplinary teams.

Minimum Qualifications:

• BSc, BEng or BTech in Civil or Structural Engineering
• Professionally Registered Engineer/Technologist with ECSA

Minimum Experience:

• 15+ years' experience
• Software Proficiency: MS Office, AutoCAD & structural modelling software (e.g. Tekla, Prokon, Masterseries, Robot)

Preferential Abilities & Experience:

• Advanced Technical Design: Solid background in structural analysis, modeling, and hand calculations, ensuring code-compliant and constructible designs across diverse materials and building types.
• Site Oversight: Proven ability to lead site inspections, assess workmanship quality, and issue authoritative site instructions.
• Project Lifecycle Management: Demonstrated capacity to manage projects independently from concept to completion with minimal supervision.
• Leadership & Mentorship: Experienced in guiding and developing junior engineers and technical staff.
• Interdisciplinary Integration: Ability to seamlessly coordinate structural design elements with architectural and various engineering disciplines.
• Professional Communication: Strong client-facing interpersonal skills and effective negotiation abilities.
• Operational Efficiency: Excellent time management skills with a proven track record of managing multiple concurrent projects without compromising quality standards.
