Professional Quantity Surveyor (PQS)

About the position

Our client is looking for an accomplished Professional Quantity Surveyor to join their established consulting practice in Cape Town. This opportunity is suited to a Quantity Surveyor with more than 10 years of experience within a Professional Quantity Surveying environment and a proven ability to manage projects from inception to final account.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare cost estimates, budgets, and feasibility studies.
• Manage cost planning throughout all project stages.
• Compile tender documentation and evaluate contractor submissions.
• Administer contracts and monitor project costs.
• Prepare valuations, payment certificates, and final accounts.
• Provide accurate commercial advice to clients and project teams.
• Liaise effectively with clients, consultants, and contractors.
• Ensure projects are delivered within approved budgets.

Requirements

• Degree in Quantity Surveying.
• Minimum of 10 years' experience within a Professional Quantity Surveying consultancy.
• Strong knowledge of construction contracts and cost management principles.
• Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Professional registration will be advantageous.
