Main Purpose of the Job
To deliver safe, comprehensive, and high-quality nursing care in accordance with the Scope of Practice.
Key Responsibility Areas
- Deliver quality nursing care in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team
- Identify, prevent, and manage risks to ensure patient safety
- Facilitate a positive patient experience by creating a supportive environment
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of all nursing interventions
- Contribute to a learning environment that enhances staff competence
- Ensure all utilised stock and equipment are accurately recorded and charged
Required Education
Essential:
- Degree or Diploma in General Nursing
Desired:
- Qualification in Midwifery
- Postgraduate certificate or diploma in a relevant specialty area
Required Experience
Essential:
- No minimum experience required
Desired:
- At least 1 year of post-graduate experience, preferably prior to placement in a specialised unit
Required Job Skills and Knowledge
- Infection prevention and control
- Pharmacology knowledge
- Scientific nursing principles and processes
- Nursing record keeping
- Patient assessment skills
- Nursing procedures and protocols
- Basic computer literacy (Microsoft Office)
- Ability to develop and modify nursing care plans
- Knowledge of relevant nursing legislation
- Basic Life Support training (ACLS, ATLS, PALS for specialised wards)
- Risk identification and management
