About the position
Professional Accountant (SA) | Somerset West (On-Site)Hire Resolve is seeking a detail-oriented Accountant to join a rapidly growing group in the renewable energy sector. This role is ideal for a proactive professional who enjoys managing financial functions across multiple entities and thrives in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Multi-Entity Accounting: Manage the full accounting function for various entities within the group, ensuring the integrity and accuracy of all financial records.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare comprehensive monthly management accounts and perform detailed analysis of trends, variances, and risks.
- Cash Flow & Operations: Oversee daily bank reconciliations, accounts payable/receivable, and execute weekly payment runs.
- Tax & Statutory Compliance: Lead the preparation and submission of all statutory returns (VAT, PAYE, UIF, SDL, and Income Tax) and ensure ongoing SARS compliance.
- Systems & Controls: Utilize Xero and Zoho accounting systems to maintain internal controls and support the annual external audit process.
- Strategic Support: Assist management with budgeting, forecasting, and the identification of operational improvements.
Requirements:- Education: Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Accounting or Finance.
- Professional Registration: SAIPA registration is essential.
- Experience: Proven experience in an accounting role, ideally within a multi-entity or group environment.
- Technical Skills: Strong working knowledge of IFRS, South African tax legislation, and proficiency in Xero and Zoho.
- Attributes: Exceptional analytical skills, the ability to meet competing deadlines, and a reliable, independent work ethic.
