Job Specification: Production Supervisor
Position Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Production Supervisor to oversee the daily operations of our meat production facility. The ideal candidate will ensure efficient production processes, maintain high-quality standards, and lead a team to achieve operational goals. This role requires a strong understanding of food safety standards, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage a dynamic work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Production Management
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the meat production lines, ensuring efficiency and compliance with production schedules.
- Monitor workflow and adjust production activities to meet quality and quantity targets.
- Coordinate with other departments (e.g., logistics, maintenance, and quality assurance) to streamline production.
- Quality Assurance and Compliance
- Ensure adherence to food safety standards (e.g., HACCP, or relevant local regulations).
- Monitor the quality of raw materials, production processes, and finished products to meet company standards.
- Team Leadership
- Manage, train, and motivate production staff to ensure peak performance.
- Assign duties, monitor team progress, and provide constructive feedback.
- Promote a culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement among employees.
- Health & Safety
- Enforce compliance with workplace safety protocols to minimize accidents and hazards.
- Ensure staff are trained on proper handling and processing of meat products.
- Reporting and Documentation
- Maintain accurate records of production metrics, including yields, waste, and downtime.
- Prepare reports on production performance, staffing needs, and maintenance requirements.
- Communicate production issues and solutions to senior management.
Requirements:
- Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of supervisory experience in meat processing or a related food production environment.
- Skills and Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and standards (e.g., HACCP, GMP).
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a diverse team.
- Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Technical Proficiency:
- Familiarity with production equipment and machinery in a meat processing facility. ? Proficiency in Microsoft Office and production software systems.
