A manufacturer industry leader seeks a dynamic Production Supervisor for their PE operations. This overall purpose of this role is the planning, coordination, and control of production. Endeavour to produce as much as possible at the lowest possible cost. Activities include the anticipation of production, factory layout, the drawing up of a production plan and quality standards.
Qualifications
- 10 years of experience in a production environment
- Diploma / NQF level 5
Job Description / Responsibilities
- Ensures operational out-puts and evaluates operational workflows and procedures to improve job processes on an ongoing basis.
- Ensures optimization of resources with respect to current workloads.
- Ensures maintenance and optimal usage of resources and recommends additions or replacement of resources.
- Monitors and ensures that all resources conform to guidelines; manages and ensures fast and effective collection and delivery of parts.
- Ensures fast and timeous delivery of parts to customers according to schedule.
- Ensures optimization of machinery to maximize capacity utilization.
- Manages and ensures effective and efficient maintenance of production processes.
- Reports production statistics, productivity to the General Manager on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.
- Ensures that areas under supervision comply with OSH Act and housekeeping guidelines.
- Ensures that staff are trained, skilled and that their expertise is optimally applied.
- Ensures that the working environment contributes to improve staff morale and increase productivity.
- Provides input into the compilation of the regional budget.
- Optimizes resources to control and reduce costs.
- Inspects facility and equipment to determine need and extend of service, equipment required, type of equipment required, and production staff required.
- Responsible for planning of the day-to-day operations; maintain & set production objectives, KPI's and challenges.
- Coordinating with other departments, such as HR, Sales and Purchasing to ensure effective communication and alignment of goals.
