Production Supervisor at Rhodes Food Group

About the position

Introduction

This role reports to the Production Manager and is responsible to supervise and coordinate the activities of the production team.

Job Responsibilities

• To manage a team of Production Team Leaders
• Organize, plan, and prioritize team activities to ensure targets are met 100% to plan
• Ensure all team members are trained and competent in performing the tasks required
• Coach and develop employees
• Attend and participate in the daily morning meetings and other meetings as required
• Ensure all planning is completed in advance and labour number allocations are done accurately
• Ensure health and safety procedures are adhered to at all times
• Ensure TQM documents are signed off daily
• Ensure all quality checks are implemented and adhered to
• Ensure that daily cycle counts are done accurately
• Ensure set targets are maintained constantly
• Ensure that blending and packing trials are completed and reports are submitted timeously
• Manage all disciplinary actions required
• Maintain good cleaning standards
• Ensure that breakdown times on Shopware are accurate and approved
• Ensure quality and food safe standards are adhered to and maintained
• Administration and completion of production reports
• Reporting on all deviations and incidents
• Manage absenteeism and time keeping of employees in line with Company policies and procedures
• Performing ad hoc duties as and when required by Management

Knowledge and Skills Requirements for the Position

• Computer Literacy (MS Office - Word/EXCEL/Outlook/Syspro)
• Minimum of 3 - 5 years' supervisory experience in food manufacturing plant
• Knowledge of HACCP, ISO 22000, Good Manufacturing Practices
• Ability to work under pressure
• Ability to motivate a team and lead by example
• Ability to communicate at all levels of employment
• Excellent track record (Honest, Reliable, Accountable, Assertive)
• Required to work shifts as and when required

Qualifications Required for the Position

• Matric certificate with Mathematics or Mathematical Literacy
• Tertiary qualification in Production or Operations is advantageous
