Purpose of the Role
Are you a meticulous planner with strong analytical thinking and coordination skills? Our client is looking for a Brewery Scheduler / Production Planner. The successful candidate will be responsible for optimising brewery resource utilisation and throughput to meet grid requirements and support central planning. This is your chance to play a pivotal role in aligning production schedules with business demands, ensuring efficient and uninterrupted supply chain operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Liaise with WSNP regarding development of Packaging and Brewing Production Schedules based off of 13 Week Plan and develop a monthly and weekly schedules taking into account production constraints whilst optimally utilizing production resources and manage changes as necessary.
- Liaise with relevant stakeholders to ensure all constraints have been accounted for and GLY , OSE KPIs are optimized
- Develops and communicates Shift Configuration requirements to enable the 13-week schedule taking into account IP, Days of Cover and seasonality requirements
- For production capability at the Brewery and for DCs within the Preferred Route Matrix (PRM) Out of Stocks to be analysed to understand if Demand or Supply issue/constraint.
- Stock Build Plans/Ramp Down Plans to be developed for Line Shut-Downs and Seasonality requirements taking into account Space Constraints
- WSNP, IDP and Regional Demand Analyst Routines to ensure Service Levels gaps have been closed based on weekly and monthly schedules
- Communicate and network with key stakeholders
- NPD Routines to understand changes and which Brewery is impacted. For discontinued SKUs Stock on Hand Management (Brewery and Suppliers) to ensure run out plans are executed to minimize write offs. Communication of discontinued SKUs. For New SKUs , trial run plans and effective communication with Stakeholders (UMs, Quality, Plant Manager etc.)
PPA KPI analysis and reporting to enable problem solving
- BPA KPI analysis and reporting to enable problem solving
- FPA KPI analysis and reporting to enable problem solving
- PPMS adoption and usage
- OnTime adoption and usage
- Obsolescence risks are managed through the scheduling of runs strategically
- Ensure implementation and compliance of VPO Excellence Programs
- KPI Management through Effective Reporting and Problem Solving (E.g. 5 WHY, Abnormality Reports, SIC, OPLs, RACI's, OWD's, PDCA’s)
- Authorizes expenditure and ensure adherence to the Procurement to Payment policy
- Continuously look for financial optimization opportunities internal and external
- Lead the Raw Materials ordering process and ensure strong routines in place with MRP and Warehouse Team to ensure alignment with supplier and brewery stock holding of Raw Materials
What You'll Bring to the Role
- Experience in production scheduling/planning within FMCG manufacturing
- Strong understanding of supply chain, resource planning, and KPI reporting
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and coordinate across departments
- Problem-solving mindset with a passion for continuous improvement
- Excellent communication and analytical skills
- Proficiency in SAP or similar ERP systems (advantageous)
Requirements
- A degree or equivalent tertiary qualification. Ideally an Industrial Engineering qualification (Advantageous)
- A minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience in a manufacturing environment, or within a similar function
- Knowledge of the Supply Network Planning process, and manufacturing execution systems will be advantageous
