About the position
Production Planner
Scope of Work
- Monitor and report on production tracking
- Analyse existing production tracking practices and improve where required
- Report daily, weekly and monthly on production figures per department
- Identify bottlenecks in the production pipeline per style-code
- Plan production workflow per department
- Plan daily, weekly and monthly production flows per department
- Match production plan to resource availability per department and amend accordingly
- Adjust production plan(s) based on urgent requests and client orders
- Optimise production within each department
- Optimise production flow through each department to ensure order deadlines are met. This focus is specifically on processes based on style-codes
- Communicate production timelines to internal clients
- Communicate production timelines to internal clients on a daily basis
- Adjust production plans based on internal priorities, indicating the effect of such
- Work closely with quality officers and Heads of Departments to ensure the production plan is carried out
Skills Required
- Good management skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent Excel skills
- Basic financial skills
- Excellent understanding of processes
- Ability to manage yourself
- Good time management (should be accountable)
- Ability to foresee problems in the department before they arise
Qualification
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Industrial preferred)
- Project management certificate (or similar) to indicate knowledge of process flows/planning (this would be an advantage)
Experience
- At least 5 years of working experience
- At least 3 years of production planning experience
