Production Planner

About the position

Our client in the Retail Industry is recruiting for a Production Planner to join their organisation.
We have a vacancy for a Production Planner in Aeroton, Jhb South. Candidates wanting to apply need to meet the following criteria.
Minimum Requirements:

• Minimum of 2 years work experience.
• Relevant tertiary qualification.
• Advanced excel skills.
• Strong statistical skills.
• Effective communication skills.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Own reliable transport.

Duties:

• Seasonal planning and tracking.
• Seasonal procurement planning and ordering.
• Provide compliance documents for customers over border export products.
• Review output results for efficiency.
• Liaise with Merchandise Planning with regards to effective timing of production to optimise economies of scale levels.
• Identify low machine capacity periods and in turn identify potential production opportunities to optimise machine utilisation.
• Prepare procurement schedule and place material orders.
• Print calculations for optimum scheming considering colour, artwork delays and delivery dates.
• Prepare the process loading spread for production to meet delivery deadlines whilst considering material supply timelines.
• Monitor production progress / ability to meet delivery deadlines and keep amending.
• Forecast of annual call off to some suppliers.
• Comparing costs of new orders to previous orders and identifying risk to COP.
• Identifying alternatives in stock to reduce spend where possible.
• Monthly raw material stock on hand review and accountability.
