Position: Production Manager - Packaging Manufacturing
Our client based in Durban, is a Packaging Manufacturer is looking for a Production Manager, to lead and oversee the production team through the crucial punching stage of manufactured goods. Your primary objective will be to ensure the seamless execution of the production process, aligning with both company objectives and client specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise various machinery and areas including Die-cutting, Focusight, Windowpatcher, Gralex, Tub machine, Flexo machine, and stripping of excess board.
- Develop and uphold quality control objectives, harmonizing them with production procedures in collaboration with fellow managers to optimize product reliability and minimize costs.
- Manage the punching and stripping processes of printed materials.
- Conduct thorough checks on work in progress.
- Adjust order priorities and operating schedules as necessitated by workload demands.
- Evaluate production requirements and draft detailed work specifications for the department.
- Drive improvements in machine efficiency and production processes.
- Handle staffing and workload allocation to mitigate overtime.
- Perform additional duties as needed, within your skillset and capabilities.
Requirements:

- Matrick & Relevant tertiary qualifications such as BTech, Diploma, or Degree.
Abilities:
- Precision and attention to detail.
- Ability to act promptly when needed.
- Proficiency in conflict resolution and understanding of labor regulations.
- Competence in training, coaching, and succession planning.
- Effective planning and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication abilities.
- Capability in change management.
- Proficiency in data analysis and trend interpretation.
- Supervisory skills including instruction, direction, and evaluation.
- Aptitude for cross-functional collaboration.
- Familiarity with packaging processes and machinery preferred.
- Understanding of printing and packaging materials, including papers, inks, fluids, and chemicals.
Skills/Experience:
- Experience in Package Printing Processes and Material Production.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks independently.
- Structured project execution skills.
- Proficiency in Occupational Health and Safety regulations and management systems.
- Knowledge of FSSC 22000 & ISO9001 standards.
- 5-8 years of managerial experience in manufacturing.
