About the position
Our Client is looking for a Production Manager to join their team.
Location: Industria Johannesburg
Job Summary:
As a Production Manager in the Corrugated Carton Manufacturing and Packaging sector, the role involves overseeing the entire production process and managing packing operations to ensure efficiency, quality, and timely delivery within the company
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage and prioritize the production of high-quality packaging consistently through improvement and innovation.
- Ensure delivery of sustainable cost effective, fit for purpose, packaging
- Improve speed of service delivery avoiding production errors or loss.
- Ensure production lines run smoothly with minimum downtime.
- Ensure client specifications are met in all aspects related to quantities, dimensions, ply and delivery
- Ensure company standards related to Health and Safety, Housekeeping and other relevant standard operating procedures are met.
- Ensuring that the manufacturing schedules are met.
- Corrugated Carton Manufacturing industry
Staff Management:
- Day to day supervision of factory staff.
- Conducting periodical performance reviews.
- Communicating with management regarding staff related issues and resolving grievances.
- Dispute resolution.
- Ensuring that employees wear appropriate PPE and use safe working practices.
- Maintaining Timekeeping records and Leave Management
- Identifying abuse of sick leave and absenteeism and escalating disciplinary measures to management
- Identifying poor performance and implementing procedures to increase employee productivity.
Competencies/ Skills:
- Competent team manager with good leadership skills
- Able to work with production forecasts
- Excellent at building customer relations.
- Team player who can lead a diverse team.
- Ability to work in a high pressure environment.
- Understanding corrugated manufacturing processes is a Must.
Desirable:
- Tertiary education related to production management would be advantageous
