Purpose of the Role:
The meat production manager will oversee the entire meat processing operation, ensuring efficiency, quality, and adherence to safety standards.
Manage teams, implement production plans, and drive continuous improvement in areas like workflow, cost control, and hygiene.
Qualification:
Matric
A bachelor's degree in food science, meat science, agricultural business, or a related
HCCP certification
Requirements:
- Min 5 years experience as a Production Manager
- Clear criminal record
Key Responsibilities:
- Overseeing Processing Operations:Managing all aspects of meat processing from receiving raw materials to packaging the finished product.
- Team Management:Leading and supervising butchery teams, providing training, and fostering a productive work environment.
- Production Planning & Optimization:Developing and implementing production schedules, optimizing workflow, and ensuring efficient use of resources (personnel, equipment, etc.).
- Quality Control:Ensuring meat products meet quality standards, implementing quality control measures, and addressing any issues related to product quality.
- Food Safety & Hygiene:Maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene, complying with relevant regulations (e.g., HACCP).
- Inventory Management:Managing meat inventory, ensuring proper storage, and minimizing waste.
- Cost Control:Monitoring production costs, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing measures to reduce expenses.
- Compliance:Ensuring compliance with all relevant health, safety, and food safety regulations. Skills
