About the position
The ideal candidate will have over 7 years of experience in a production management role, specifically within the FMCG sector
Proficiency in isiZulu is advantageous, as is experience managing large teams and working with machine-related operations
Experience in a food production environment is highly desirable
Responsibilities
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in a production management role within the FMCG industry
- Tertiary qualifications in production management
- HACCP / FSSC / ISO 22000
- Demonstrated experience in managing a team of 100+ staff
- Experience working with machine-related operations is essential
- Previous experience in a food production environment is highly preferable
- Strong understanding of production processes, quality control, and health & safety standards
- Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and leadership skills
- Strong leadership and team management abilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Analytical mindset with a strong attention to detail
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage daily production operations to ensure efficiency and quality standards are met
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of over 100 staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment
- Develop and implement production schedules and processes to meet company objectives
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies
- Monitor production metrics and implement continuous improvement initiatives
- Coordinate with other departments (e.g., quality control, maintenance, logistics) to ensure smooth operations
- Troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to production machinery and equipment
- Manage budgets and optimize costs without compromising on quality
- Prepare and present regular reports on production performance to senior management
