About the position
Our client, a major player in the Automotive industry, is currently seeking a dynamic Production Manager to join their team.
The ideal candidate will have at least 4 years’ experience in a production management role, hold a qualification in Production or Operations Management,
and demonstrate strong expertise in lean manufacturing principles.
Purpose:
- To efficiently manage the overall operation of the production facility.
- Ensuring that workflow and quality standards are achieved.
- Ensuring that Control Disciplines like ‘smooth flow’ ‘5S’ are being adhered to so the facility functions well and in accordance with our customers’ expectations.
Minimum Requirements:
- Degree or Diploma in Production/ Operations Management.
- 4+ Years' experience in production/operations management.
- Automotive industry experience.
- Management experience is essential.
- Lean six sigma would be an advantage.
- 16.2 appointment would be an advantage.
Responsibilities:
- Assuring that the scope of work undertaken meets all product and quality standards required.
- Assures the production facility is in compliance with all regulations. This includes the application of procedures and policies to comply with the company standards regarding the appearance, cleanliness and security of the facility and vehicles.
- Structures the production operations in order to meet production schedules.
- Implements and administers new products/new processes implemented into production.
- Assists in the development of new projects to include the development of installation processes related to the modification build.
- Assures personnel have necessary knowledge (training), equipment and access to materials and information necessary to perform their jobs.
- Insures that the correct tooling is available, correctly calibrated for all processes and that detailed Tool registers are updated and maintained on a regular basis.
- Works with the HR Manager to facilitate the training and multi-skilling of all employees in the Production and Quality processes.
- Analyses and determines equipment, capacity and manpower needs on an ongoing basis to best deliver the work required by our customer.
- Administers existing products and processes; make suggestions on how to improve the build process to meet the company’s quality requirements.
- Implements and develop ‘Standard Business Reports’ for the Production Facility, which need to be sent electronically to the senior management on a weekly basis and overview monthly.
