About the position
Our client, a well-established player in the rubber recycling and materials processing industry, is looking for an experienced Production Foreman to lead their production floor.
What you'll be doing:
?? Manage daily production planning and shift scheduling across the shredding ? granulating ? separation (steel/fibre/rubber) ? grading/bagging line
?? Handle first-line mechanical fault-finding and authorise repairs, reducing reliance on external maintenance contractors
?? Oversee wear-part inventory (blades, screens, bearings, hydraulic seals) — a critical cost driver in this industry
?? Enforce safety protocols in a high-hazard environment (dust/fire risk, entanglement risk, noise)
?? Liaise with SHEQ on ISO/OHS compliance
?? Manage quality control on output specifications (mesh size, contamination levels) for end markets such as sports surfaces and asphalt modification
?? Train operators on machine-specific procedures
What you'll bring:
? Fitter and Turner trade test (Red Seal), NQF Level 4 (QCTO) — Millwright trade also considered
? N2/N3 Mechanical Engineering advantageous
? 5–8+ years post-qualification experience, including 2–3 years in a supervisory role
? Experience in recycling, plastics/rubber processing, or heavy manufacturing (mining, steel) preferred
