We are seeking a detail-oriented Production Cost Controller to join a leading manufacturing company. The successful candidate will play a critical role in managing production costs, analysing variances, and ensuring accurate financial reporting. This position requires hands-on involvement in factory operations and collaboration with cross-functional teams to drive cost efficiency.
Qualifications & Experience:
- BCom in Management Accounting or CIMA qualification, or equivalent
- Proven experience as a Cost Accountant, System Cost Analyst, or similar role in manufacturing
- Hands-on expertise with Sage X3, CaseWare, and MS Excel
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and identify cost-saving opportunities
- Willingness to work on the factory floor and engage with operational teams
- High integrity and discretion when handling confidential information
- Advantageous: Ability to read technical drawings
Key Responsibilities & Requirements:
- Cost Management: Determine and calculate overhead, labour, and production costs; maintain and update standard costs using Sage X3; investigate cost variances and recommend solutions.
- Financial Analysis: Analyse sales, profit margins, and operational costs; prepare monthly management accounts and reports.
- Systems & Processes: Manage BOMs (Bills of Materials), routings, and WIP (Work in Progress) reconciliations; oversee budgets (expense and capex) and investment proposals.
- Collaboration: Work closely with Sales, Production, Planning, and Procurement teams to ensure accurate cost calculations.
