Production and Maintenance Supervisor

About the position

Our client with over 70 years in the Lubrication business is looking for a Production and Maintenance Supervisor.
Role Responsibilities:

• Carry out preventative maintenance on plant equipment
• Carry out inspections of the production facilities to identify and resolve issues.
• Attend to equipment failure and breakdowns immediately
• Implement improvements to plant and equipment
• Keep maintenance logs and reports on daily activities
• Adhere to and enforce SHEQ procedures and company policies
• Supervise refinery operators and assist refinery manager
• Assist in supervision of production personnel in workshop and plant
• Assist with stock requirements and conduct regular stock counts
• Stand in for refinery and maintenance manager when required
• Other adhoc duties

 
Qualifications:

• Matric certificate, further qualification in Production and Maintenance
• Machining, fitting, turning and welding and boiler making skills are essential
• 5 years plant maintenance and workshop supervision, preferable related to petroleum industry
• Computer skills, Microsoft office suite
• Knowledge of production environments, pumps welding, boiler making and pip fitting

 
Key Skills:

• Literate and able to communicate verbally and in writing
• Must be able to delegate and do maintenance planning as well as preventative maintenance
• Interpersonal and troubleshooting skills
• Ability to follow instructions and procedures precisely
• Knowledge of SHEQ procedures
• Forklift and SHEQ certificates are beneficial
• Willing to work overtime and be on standby after hours and over the weekends
• Able to work under pressure.
