About the position

Our client in Westmead is looking for a Product specialist .The Product Specialist is responsible for driving sales of Earthmoving equipment by identifying new business opportunities, engaging with customers, and providing expert product knowledge. This role involves managing the full sales cycle, from lead generation to after-sales support, while maintaining strong relationships with clients and staying informed on industry trends.

Key responsibilities 




1. Sales Performance
- Meet or exceed sales targets.
- Actively solicits new equipment customers.
- Use all reasonable methods of prospecting for new customers on a daily basis, primarily via sales calls to individuals and businesses within specific area assigned.
- Generate and qualify leads.
- Active follow-up of OTPs.

2. Customer Interaction & Service

- Communicate with and provide service to all walk-in and call-in customers.
- Assist clients in equipment selection based on the application.
- Deliver new equipment- Follow up with and provide ongoing service to existing customers.

3. Sales Process & Documentation

- Develop sales proposals based on requirements and discuss with clients.
- Write sales orders and process paperwork in accordance with established Kanu Equipment Policies.
- Prepare and submit sales call reports, prospect lists, and lost sales reports.


4. Product Knowledge & Presentation

- Develop and make presentations of the products.
- Continually study equipment specifications to improve product knowledge.

5. Market & Industry Awareness

- Continuous market and competition research.
- Monitor trends and developments in the construction and material handling equipment industry in the territory.


6. Internal Collaboration & Development

- Attend sales and training meetings.
- Work with all departments in harmony

Experience and qualifications 

1. Matric certificate (minimum requirement).
2. Formal marketing qualification highly advantageous.
3. Intermediate to advanced use on MS Office
4. Sage 300 experience advantageous
5. Minimum of 3 years’ experience selling Earth Moving equipment
