About the position
A medical equipment supplier requires the above to be responsible for product planning and product marketing, including gathering and prioritising of product and customer requirements and defining the product vision. The Product Specialist works closely with the Business Unit Manager, sales, marketing and support to ensure revenue and customer satisfaction goals are met.
Minimum requirements for the role:
- A bachelor’s degree or diploma and/or equivalent qual in a Life Sciences or a relevant qual is preferred.
- Must have experience or knowledge having worked in a Laboratory and needing to know what is needed in running a Laboratory.
- Previous experience and/or knowledge working with general Laboratory products will be advantageous.
- Must be computer literate in the Microsoft Office suite applications or similar.
- Must be able to work on CRM systems and be able to populate data and update customer information.
- Must have good negotiation, contracting and problem-solving skills.
- Must be able to work within a cross-functional environment.
- Must have existing relationships with Key Opinion Leaders within the key target markets across Africa.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Overseeing the development, launch, and management of the Company's General Laboratory products.
- Responsible for product planning and product marketing, including gathering and prioritising of product and customer requirements and defining the product vision.
- Working closely with Business Unit Manager, sales, marketing and support to ensure revenue and customer satisfaction goals are met.
- Other responsibilities include Market Research and Analysis, Product Development, Product Launch, Regulatory Compliance, Forecasting, Cross-functional Collaboration, Product Lifecycle Management, Customer Engagement, Financial Management and Quality Assurance.
- Responsible for the successful development, launch, and management of all general laboratory products that meet market needs and regulatory requirements. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, sales, and regulatory affairs, to ensure the success of the product throughout its lifecycle, ensuring that the product supports the company’s overall strategy and goals and investment constraints.
- Adhering to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes.
- Reviewing and signing off on weekly re-order lists.
- Assisting with year-end stock takes.
- Appointing new suppliers and presenting recommendations to the CEO and Business Unit Manager for approval.
- Evaluating and scoring suppliers on an annual basis.
- Assisting and liaising with the Procurement team regarding supplier queries and information.
