Product Owner - Retail at Datonomy Solutions

About the position

Location: Cape Town

We are seeking an experienced Senior Product Owner to shape the technology supporting a leading retailer’s on-demand delivery service.

You will translate customer and operational needs into practical digital solutions, improving the delivery experience through close collaboration with business stakeholders, designers and engineering teams.

Key responsibilities

• 
  Own and prioritise the product backlog, user stories and acceptance criteria.
  
  
• Lead requirements workshops, feature design and wireframe development.
  
  
• Define requirements for backend business logic, data flows and system integrations.
  
  
• Guide Agile teams through planning, development, demonstrations and releases.
  
  
• Coordinate user acceptance testing and business sign-off.
  
  
• Use analytics and user feedback to improve customer experience and service levels.
  
  
• Support and mentor other Product Owners.
  
  

Requirements

• 
  Relevant degree in Business, IT, Engineering or a related discipline.
  
  
• Product Owner or SAFe Product Owner certification.
  
  
• At least six years’ experience as a Senior or Lead Product Owner.
  
  
• Demonstrated last-mile delivery and logistics technology experience.
  
  
• Experience designing and implementing complex delivery networks.
  
  
• Ecommerce and retail experience.
  
  
• Strong technical understanding, analytical skills and commercial judgement.
  
  
• Ability to manage multidisciplinary stakeholders and work through ambiguity.
  
  

An industrial engineering background and ecommerce logistics operations experience would be advantageous.
