About the position
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Product Owner: ERP System Implementation (SYSPRO) to lead the successful implementation of SYSPRO as our primary ERP system. This is a crucial, permanent position responsible for the complete migration from our existing ERP systems, including JDE and other disparate systems. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between business needs and technical execution, ensuring the new system aligns with our strategic goals and enhances operational efficiency across the organization. This person will also be involved in other key projects across the business. Key Responsibilities: Strategic Leadership & Vision: Qualifications & Experience:
- Define, articulate, and maintain a clear product vision and strategy for the SYSPRO implementation.
- Serve as the primary point of contact and subject matter expert for the project, representing the needs of all key stakeholders and business units.
- Prioritize the product backlog based on business value, technical dependencies, and strategic goals. Project & Vendor Management:
- Lead the collaboration and management of external third-party vendors and implementation partners, applying strong project management discipline to ensure the project stays on track, within scope, and on budget.
- Facilitate workshops, sprint planning, and review sessions with internal teams and external vendors.
- Proactively identify and mitigate risks and issues, and report on project progress to senior leadership. Business & Systems Analysis:
- Conduct in-depth business analysis and systems analysis to understand current processes, identify gaps, and define requirements for the new ERP system.
- Translate business needs into detailed user stories and functional specifications for the development and implementation teams.
- Ensure all system design decisions are aligned with business objectives and technical feasibility. System Integration & Migration:
- Manage the end-to-end migration process from JDE and other legacy systems to SYSPRO.
- Work closely with technical teams to ensure seamless integration of all disparate systems (e.g., HR, CRM, manufacturing software) into the new ERP.
- Define and oversee the data migration strategy, ensuring data integrity and accuracy during the transition. Stakeholder Communication & Change Management:
- Act as a central hub for communication between technical teams, business stakeholders, and vendors.
- Develop and implement a change management plan to ensure smooth user adoption and minimize disruption to business operations.
- Provide regular, transparent updates to stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- A Bachelor's degree or diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related quantitative field.
- At least 10 years' experience with at least 5 years' experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Proven experience as a Product Owner, Business Analyst, or similar role in a large-scale ERP implementation, preferably with SYSPRO.
- In-depth knowledge of ERP systems and business processes in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
- Strong experience managing third-party vendors and complex, cross-functional projects.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and persuade stakeholders at all levels.
- A strong understanding of system integration, data migration, and data governance principles.
- PMP, Agile, or other relevant certifications are a plus.
