About the position
Product Owner – Domestic Low Value Payments & Corporate Channels Own the rails that move everyday money — and the digital channels corporates use to control it
We’re looking for a commercially sharp Product Owner who has lived inside Domestic Low Value Payments (DLV) and Corporate Channels. You’ll own the product vision, roadmap and delivery of the payment products and the digital experiences that sit on top of them — turning complex clearing schemes, mandates, integrations and corporate workflows into reliable, competitive offerings.
Domestic Low Value Payments – What this actually means
You need hands-on depth in the domestic low-value / retail payment rails (typically = high-value RTGS thresholds). This includes understanding the schemes, rules, processing models, exception handling, and commercial dynamics of:
- Credit payments: Batch EFT credits, Real-Time Clearing (RTC / Instant EFT), and modern real-time rails (e.g. PayShap / Rapid Payments)
- Debit / collection payments: Authenticated debit orders (DebiCheck), Registered Mandate, traditional EFT debits
- Related processes: mandate management, credit tracking, R-transactions, settlement windows, cut-offs, returns, and compliance with the National Payment System rules
- How these products are packaged, priced, integrated and operationalised for both retail and corporate clients
Experience in other domestic ACH-style systems (SEPA, US ACH, BECS, etc.) is valuable, but practical knowledge of the local scheme landscape and regulatory environment is essential.
Corporate Channel experience
You must have worked with (or owned) the digital channels that corporates use to initiate, approve, track and reconcile payments. This includes:
- Corporate internet banking / cash management portals
- Multi-user approval workflows, dual control, and entitlement models
- Integration with ERP / TMS systems and host-to-host / API channels
- Payment initiation experiences across the DLV products above
- Self-service mandate management, reporting, and exception handling for corporate clients
What You’ll Own
- Product vision, roadmap and prioritised backlog for Domestic Low Value Payments and the associated Corporate Channel capabilities
- End-to-end design, delivery and continuous improvement of payment products and channel experiences
- Translation of scheme rules, regulatory requirements and business goals into clear product decisions and user stories
- Cross-functional leadership across business, technology, operations, risk and compliance
- KPI ownership (volume, success rates, latency, exception rates, client satisfaction, revenue)
- Coaching teams on product ownership and payments domain knowledge
