We're looking for a dynamic Product Manager to join our multinational pharmaceutical client's team in Johannesburg and take charge of the Pharma product portfolio. If you have a background in health sciences coupled with marketing expertise, and thrive in a fast-paced environment, this role could be for you.
The Product Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of marketing for the Pharma products. This role involves developing marketing plans, managing budgets, analysing market data, and maintaining customer relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

Marketing:

• Annual preparation of marketing plans and quarterly strategies with input from key stakeholders.
• Planning and executing promotional activities such as congresses, marketing campaigns, and advertising.

Financial Management:

• Preparation of annual budgets and quarterly forecasts for the product portfolio.
• Analysing market and sales data to prepare Medium Term Strategies.
• Expense control and profitability management, including setting prices and margins.

Customer Liaison:

• Maintaining key customer contacts through regular in-field visits.
• Managing the key opinion leader program by maintaining contact with opinion leaders.

Strategic Planning:

• Evaluating future opportunities by analysing market research data and field intelligence.
• Assessing new business opportunities and directions.

Administrative:

• Compiling monthly reports on market-related issues and sales for stakeholders.

Product Complaints:

• Liaising with the Responsible Pharmacist regarding product complaints and ensuring follow-up with customers.

Scientific Support/Training:

• Providing scientific training to the sales force on new products.

Conducting basic training for newly appointed employees in other departments.

Qualifications:

• Degree in health sciences - necessary; business studies or marketing qualifications beneficial.

Skills & Experience:

• Minimum 4 - 5 years' experience in sales within a related field.
• 3 - 5 years' experience as a product/brand manager in a related field.
