About the position

Well known ingredient supplier has a vacancy for a product manager who will source high quality ingredients for customers and in-house manufacturing. This would also require maintaining and growing local markets for the overseas principals, ultimately leading to short and long term profitability and growth for the business. Technical sales experience is essential, so too the understanding of functional food ingredients.

Responsibilities:
Formulating and implementing business plans and strategies per category and business division.
Achieving profitability targets.
Achieving growth targets.
Maintaining sound supplier and customer relations.
Liaising with suppliers, customers and internal stakeholders.
Work closely with supply chain including procurement and shipping.
Conduct and present market analysis with a view to exploiting new opportunities.
Conduct product testing to enhance the promotion of value added ingredients.

Requirements:
BSc Food Science/Dip Food Tech or similar
Fully bilingual (English & Afrikaans)
Technical Sales experience.
Ability to work in a high-pressured environment.
Computer literate (MS Office, Syspro, Skynamo, Qlikview)
Sound report writing & presentation skills.
Sound understanding of functional food ingredients
