Procurement Trader

About the position

A growing player in the ores and minerals business is requiring the services of a Procurement Trading Specialist who specialises in the sourcing, export and supply chain management of ores.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the procurement, export and supply chain of Ores
• Design and implement procurement startegies for Ores
• Ensure compliance with local laws and regulations to ensure best terms and conditions
• Conduct market research and analysis to identify potential suppliers
• Manage procurement process to ensure timely delivery and quality of materials
• Track and report on procurement performance and identify areas for improvement
• Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, vendors and key stakeholders
• Identify and evaluate investment opportunities in terms of projects in mining and supply chain bulk commodities to help increase volumes
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth operations

Requirements:

• A Bachelor's degree, preferred
• In-depth knowledge of local laws and regulations in both South Africa and Zimbabwe
• 8-10 years experience in procurement in the bulk commodities sector (specific focus on chrome ore, lithium ore and/or managanese ore)
• Track record of successful procurement and trading activities
• Established network of contacts within the mining and trading sectors
• Strong negotiation and contract management skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to adapt to changing market conditions and business needs
