About the position
We are looking for an organised and proactive Procurement Officer with strong supplier management, purchasing and administrative skills. The successful candidate will be responsible for sourcing materials and equipment, obtaining quotations, negotiating pricing, processing orders and ensuring timely deliveries for projects and operations. The role also provides general administrative support to the Cape Town branch.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Source and purchase equipment, materials, components and consumables.
- Obtain and compare supplier quotations based on price, quality, availability and lead times.
- Prepare and process accurate purchase orders.
- Liaise with Project Managers, Service Teams and internal departments regarding procurement requirements.
- Follow up on outstanding orders and ensure on-time delivery.
- Build and maintain strong supplier relationships.
- Negotiate pricing, discounts, lead times and supply terms.
- Resolve supplier issues including shortages, incorrect deliveries and quality concerns.
- Coordinate with Stores regarding stock availability and replenishment.
- Maintain accurate procurement records, supplier information and pricing.
- Source alternative suppliers and products where required.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings without compromising quality.
- Assist with procurement planning for upcoming projects.
- Provide general office and administrative support to the Cape Town branch.
