Overview of position
Market research and supplier identification:
- Actively research and identify potential sheet metal suppliers based on quality, price, delivery capabilities, and market trends.
Supplier evaluation and qualification:
- Conduct thorough evaluations of potential suppliers, including quality audits, price analysis, and capacity checks to ensure they meet required standards.
Negotiation and contract management:
- Negotiate pricing, delivery terms, payment conditions, and other contractual details with sheet metal suppliers to achieve the best value for the company.
Purchase order creation and management:
- Generate purchase orders for sheet metal materials based on internal demand, ensuring accurate specifications (gauge, material grade, dimensions, etc.).
Inventory management:
- Monitor sheet metal inventory levels to optimize stock and avoid potential shortages while managing costs.
Quality control:
- Collaborate with quality inspectors to ensure incoming sheet metal shipments meet required quality standards and specifications.
Cost analysis and reporting:
- Track and analyse sheet metal procurement costs, identifying potential cost savings opportunities and reporting findings to management.
Demand forecasting:
- Work with production teams to forecast sheet metal requirements based on production schedules and project needs.
Salary Bracket
R20 000 to R35 000 per month CTC, depending on experience, qualification(s) and current / previous package
