Procurement Officer

About the position

A well-established company based in Pretoria West is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Procurement Officer to join their dynamic manufacturing environment.
Minimum Requirements:

• Proven experience in procurement within a manufacturing environment
• Strong knowledge of sheet metal grades, gauges, finishes and processes
• Solid negotiation and contract management skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Good understanding of supply chain principles

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct market research to identify and evaluate suitable sheet metal suppliers
• Assess and qualify suppliers based on quality, pricing and capacity
• Negotiate pricing, delivery terms and contracts to achieve best value
• Create and manage purchase orders with accurate specifications (grade, gauge, dimensions)
• Monitor and manage inventory levels to prevent shortages and control costs
• Collaborate with quality teams to ensure materials meet required standards
• Analyse procurement costs and identify cost-saving opportunities
• Work with production teams to forecast material requirements
• Build and maintain strong supplier relationships
• Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations
