About the position

Our client based in Cape town in the waste management industry is looking for a Procurement Officer to join their team.





As a Procurement Officer, you will be responsible for managing the procurement process, identifying cost-effective suppliers, negotiating contracts, and maintaining supplier relationships. 
The ideal candidate will have skilled experience in Procurement, strong negotiation skills, problem solving and a team player.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in business/science/IT/Commerce.
• CIPS Diploma (Advantageous).
• Oracle/Sage/SAP advantageous.

Requirements:

• 5 years min experience in Procurement.
• Clear Criminal Record

Responsibilities:

• Purchase Requisitions and Compliant Purchase Orders.
• Ensure all approved PRs are fully compliant as per the Procurement guidelines.
• Sourcing, RFQ & PO Processing:Create, maintain and amend vendors’ Purchase orders, agreements / contracts while ensuring full compliance.
• Identify and Report Savings:Identify savings and spend optimization opportunities.
• Procurement Cycle Time and Expedition process:Ensure all approved Purchase requisitions are converted to approved POs, received and closed as per the agreed timelines and in compliance with Company Procurement Procedures.
• Manage Vendors: Perform supplier market assessment, suppliers’ visits, Supplier Prequalification’s & Evaluation.
• Comply with Health, Safety and Environment policies
• Risk management
