Procurement Officer / Buyer

About the position

Location: George, Western Cape

Position Overview

An opportunity has become available within the company for an experienced and reliable Procurement Officer. This person will be responsible for evaluating products and suppliers, as well as ensuring that approved purchases are cost-efficient and of high quality.
Duties and Responsibilities

-Supply chain management.
-Forecast supply and demand to prevent overstocking and running out-of-stock.
-Place orders to replenish merchandise as needed.
-Track shipments, receive orders and address any delays.
-Oversee storage of products.
-Evaluate suppliers’ offers and negotiate profitable deals.
-Maintain an accurate inventory of both stock items and transactions.
-Coordinate with inventory team, management, and stockroom as required.
-Generate Purchase orders.


Requirements

-Manufacturing industry experience beneficial.
-National Senior Certificate.
-Driver’s licence.
-Competent in Microsoft applications.
-Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role.
-Fully bilingual-English and Afrikaans.
-Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
