About the position
A well-established company based in Cape Town is seeking an experienced Procurement Manager to join their team
Minimum Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Procurement Manager or Senior Procurement Specialist
- Matric
- Strong international sourcing and supplier negotiation experience
- Import procurement and supply chain experience
- Sound knowledge of landed costing, freight and customs processes
- Experience negotiating pricing, payment terms, rebates and commercial agreements
- Strong understanding of inventory planning and stock optimisation
- Knowledge of NRCS, SABS, SARS and customs regulations
- Excellent commercial, analytical and negotiation skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and ERP systems
Key Responsibilities:
- Source new and innovative products from international suppliers
- Develop and maintain strategic supplier relationships
- Negotiate pricing, contracts, payment terms and commercial agreements
- Drive procurement savings and improve gross margins
- Analyse landed costs and identify cost-saving opportunities
- Manage import procurement, freight and customs processes
- Plan purchasing requirements based on demand forecasts
- Monitor inventory levels and ensure continuity of supply
- Process purchase orders and maintain supplier records
- Coordinate supplier payments, reconciliations and import documentation
- Monitor shipment schedules and communicate ETAs
- Ensure compliance with all relevant procurement and import regulations
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity and identify new product opportunities
