About the position

Well established company on the East Rand seeks a Procurement Manager with a Bcom. Degree and financial acumen
Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in any field or Finance related Diploma or Degree
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills with a high attention to detail, to analyze market trends, pricing data, and supplier performance to make informed decisions
  • Computer literacy with Proficiency in MS Excel at an intermediate level.
  • Proficient in SAGE / Pastel or similar advantageous

Key Duties & Responsibilities
In this role, you will be responsible for managing the end-to-end procurement, purchasing, administration, and reporting functions to ensure cost-effectiveness, compliance, and optimal stock availability across all branches.

Duties include:
Procurement & Purchasing

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies that achieve cost savings and favourable supplier terms.
  • Source products in line with company and customer requirements, negotiating competitive prices and contracts.
  • Manage purchase orders (local and international), supplier relationships, and stock replenishment to avoid stock-outs.
  • Oversee imports, ensuring cost-effective container utilisation, customs compliance, and accurate documentation.
  • Monitor supplier lead times and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Administration

  • Maintain accurate stock records, BOMs, and item codes in the SAGE system.
  • Manage warehouse data and perform daily system updates and order relinks.
  • Ensure SLAs are in place with suppliers and maintain strong communication with management and branches.
  • Handle key administrative processes, including GRVs, purchase orders, clearing instructions, and import documentation.
  • Retain documentation in line with statutory and legal requirements.

Reporting

  • Generate and analyse stock, cost, and procurement reports (weekly, monthly, and ad hoc).
  • Review and monitor item costs and price trends, implementing strategies to reduce costs.
  • Prepare month-end stock schedules and variance reports.
  • Provide SHEQ reporting, including non-conformance, product loss, risks, and customer satisfaction tracking.
