About the position

Purpose of the role

An engineering company based in Airport Industria, Cape Town, is seeking a Project Manager to manage process engineering projects from inception through to completion.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and according to the required quality standards, they will also coordinate multidisciplinary teams and liaise with clients, contractors and suppliers during the execution of process engineering projects.

Key responsibilities

• Manage process engineering projects from inception through to completion
• Ensure that projects are delivered safely
• Ensure that projects are completed within agreed timelines
• Manage projects within the approved budget
• Ensure that projects meet the required quality standards
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams
• Liaise with clients throughout project execution
• Liaise and coordinate with contractors and suppliers
• Apply effective project planning and organisational practices
• Manage project budgets
• Perform contract-administration responsibilities
• Apply financial and commercial awareness to project execution
• Negotiate with relevant project stakeholders
• Resolve problems and make sound project-related decisions
• Communicate and present project information effectively
• Work under pressure and meet project deadlines

Minimum requirements

• A degree or diploma in Process, Chemical, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering.
• A project-management qualification such as PMP, PRINCE2 or an equivalent qualification
• A minimum of five to eight years' project-management experience within a process engineering environment
• A valid driver's licence
• Proficiency in Microsoft Project
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Experience using ERP systems
• High level of integrity and accountability
• Professional and client-focused approach
• Strong attention to detail
• Clear and confident communication and presentation style
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Ability to lead and motivate multidisciplinary teams
