About the position
A vacancy exists for a Process Engineer in Pietermaritzburg. The successful candidate will be expected to, but not limited to the following performance:
implement continued improvement to process parameters in line with improvement to material yield quality and improved efficiency/downtime.
effectively ensure the use of resources to identify areas of concern in conjunction with the Yield department.
pay attention to ne products, material and establish process prior to handing over to production.
ensure that updated process conditions are forwarded to the relative departments, for inclusion in documentation in accordance with Quality procedures.
propose improvements in material, machinery, labour utilization to positively impact on overall efficiency.
assist with training of employees on new processes in conjunction with the training department.
provide support to the production department on process related issues.
assist CAPEX originator in drawing up Capital expenditure reuests on process related projects.
Requirements:
matric coupled with trade as a fitter and turner or
National Diploma Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
atleast 5 to 8 years experience in a manufacturing environment
exposure to the Cable manufacturing industry will be highly advantageous
sound administrative and communication skills, with computer literacy
problem solving and analytical skills with the ability to work well under pressure
