About the position

Job Opportunity: Process Control Engineer
Location: Saudi Arabia
We are seeking a highly experienced Process Control Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive expertise in refining, oil & gas, or petrochemical industries and a strong background in industry standards and process safety.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Experience: 10–15 years in refining, oil & gas plants, or petrochemical industries.
  • Industry Standards: Proficiency in API, ISO, ASME codes and standards.
  • Technical Skills: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills in metering systems.
  • Process Safety: Preferred experience in HAZOP, risk assessment, and other safety-related activities.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering; an advanced professional degree is strongly preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct process studies and design modifications in operating facilities.
  • Develop and validate plant mass balances, ensuring optimal performance.
  • Identify and implement operational optimization opportunities using simulation software such as HYSYS and Promax.
  • Provide technical support to in-Kingdom and out-of-Kingdom design contractors.
  • Develop and implement long-term operational strategies to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Lead engineering teams during shutdown and startup phases of existing plants.
  • Review external engineering work to ensure compliance with company standards and site conditions.
  • Coordinate supporting services such as drafting, surveying, materials requisitioning, and clerical support.
  • Develop cost estimates for engineering, labor, equipment, and materials based on preliminary design data.
  • Assist other engineers in problem-solving beyond their specialization.
  • Develop engineering specifications and resolve related technical challenges.
  • Analyze operating requirements, process data, and economic considerations for new construction or equipment modifications.
  • Oversee construction progress, ensuring compliance with engineering standards and cost controls.
  • Recommend and validate design changes, material substitutions, and budget justifications.
