• What you'll be doing (and why you'll enjoy it)

As a Principal Contracts Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in the corporate transverse team. Specifically in overseeing construction contract management for renewable energy projects throughout their lifecycle. You'll collaborate closely with the Closing Team and Project Implementation Managers providing expert guidance on contract formulation, management, and enforcement. You will provide key inputs and advice on the formulation and management of Power Purchase Agreements, FIDIC
Contracts, other associated project agreements and the various licenses, permits and consents and how to manage project stakeholders effectively in line with the contractual obligations. From bid award to project completion, you'll ensure alignment, quality, and consistency in contractual matters, mitigating risks and maximizing opportunities within the FIDIC framework.
Your efforts will contribute to the successful execution of projects, driving sustainable growth in the renewable energy sector.

• Where you'll be doing it

Our client, a leading independent power producer in Sub-Saharan Africa, is at the forefront of renewable energy development. With a portfolio of wind, solar, and BESS projects, they are committed to driving innovation and sustainability in the energy sector.
This is a permanent role here at their Head Offices in Newlands, Cape Town, and their dynamic team values collaboration, excellence, and integrity in shaping the future of renewable energy in the country. • What you'll need

You'll need a degree in Contracts Management or equivalent, along with professional certifications in Contracts Arbitration and FIDIC Contracts. A background in law is preferred. With a minimum of 7 years of industry experience as Contracts Manager/Lead, including working on large complex projects in the energy sector, preferably in the REIPPPP, you'll demonstrate expertise in all facets of contract management during construction. Strong technical and behavioural competencies, including communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills, are essential for success in this role.
